About NMA

Background

The National Maritime Academy is a non-profit training academy that delivers world level theoretical and practical training, and related professional services in the maritime sector.

NMA was established as a result of the strategic partnership between Saudi Arabian Oil Company (“Saudi Aramco”) and the Technical & Vocational Training Corporation (“TVTC”), and collectively with Saudi Aramco and any future stakeholders in TVTC, (Stakeholders) pursuant to the Memorandum of Understanding (“MoU”) for the Establishment and Operation of the National Maritime Academy in Jubail, in December 2016, by and between the Stakeholders.

NMA is mandated with equipping Saudi Youth with market relevant skills for the shipbuilding and repair,Nautical Science,Marine Engineering and maritime employment. It also aims to develop knowledge and competencies through advanced and accelerated training programs to bridge the gap in skills and prepare a "job-ready" talent pool.

This is in line with the Kingdom's 2030 vision and its strategic objectives to raise Saudi graduates' skill levels and equip them with labor market competency needs and provide them with sustainable jobs.
